Another year is coming to a close, and, as in previous years, I took the last week of the year off from work. My goal for this vacation was straightforward: do as little as possible.

December — we made it through yet another year. One last business trip for the year. Again, quiet holidays and time off from work. Teenager home from college. New electronics to program 🤓
November — Trains, planes, automobiles. Work, work, work. Thanksgiving. More work. Catching a cold because it’s cold.
It was a big breakup. I had been collecting and building Lego models for years. Countless hours spent planning, buying, and building. And then one day I just couldn’t do it anymore.
October — Train travel. A bit of work. Another birthday. A teenager at home for a few days. Raleigh-Durham area … hm? 🤔
September — Labor Way. Work, work, work. New routines and new favorite coffee shop. Brunching in a college town. COVID booster and flu shots.
August — dog days of summer. The deck is finally done, but the yard is still a mess. No travel this month, and the teenager is off to college.
