July 2023
It’s summer in North Carolina … phew! It’s too hot and humid, and this is not even the worst part of the summer yet. It seems I’ll have to get used to spending two or three months of the year indoors. In fact, I may even have to reconsider my utter dislike of wearing shorts and get a decent pair. We’ll see … that may still be a “bridge too far” 😉
Here’s July:
- 4th of July and long weekends — long weekends are fantastic! I need more of these. A lot more! Maybe I need a really long vacation?
- More work and a bit more travel — I have to confess that I don’t mind traveling to our various offices. Sitting at home all day every day can get a bit lonely. There, I said it: I don’t mind going to the office. However, I’d hate having to commute to an office every day for 30 or more minutes each way, only to then sit in endless conference calls all day. That would drive me crazy! I don’t think alone with this sentiment. Hm … maybe there’s a blog post here 🙂
- Even fewer boxes and even less stuff — we’re now down to the “impossible last 10%” of stuff that needs to find a permanent “home” in our new home. Or maybe we should get rid of it.
- The gym — yes, I joined a gym. Uhm … let’s see how this goes.
Short version: July — 4th of July … yay! It’s too warm and humid for someone who grew up in “the North,” and, for some inexplicable reason, I decided to join a gym. I’ll blame it on the heat!
