Let's Build Some Bots

Bots! Yes, bots fascinate me. And they have for a very long time. Well, machines, in general, fascinate me, and even more so the more automated or even autonomous they are.

And it doesn’t matter whether the machines are large or small, real or digital, simple or complex. I enjoy intelligent solutions that solve real problems. That’s also why I’m less enamored with applications that solve trivial or non-existent problems. I mean, do we really need all these meal-service “platforms”? social media “platforms”? Keurigs? Juiceroos?

Anyway, in my (relatively small) world, bots are small digital machines that can help automate various tedious tasks, and, of course, I love building them.

Some of the bots I’m working on pull data from various online systems (e.g. weather, stock prices, etc.), and this data is then aggregated, processed, and used in multiple other projects.

Other bots communicate with the outside world via social media platforms. Again, the goal is to automate interactions that are either time-consuming or impossible to carry out in person.

And yes, I will write more in-depth posts as I build and deploy these bots. Who knows? Maybe I can create a bot that writes some of these posts. 🤖
